NASCRC RULES
Our
Philosophy:
Our main goal is to have
fun racing the commercially available 1/32nd scale
cars produced by Scalextric, Carrera, Monogram/Revell, Slot-It,
etc. We want to minimize the expense of racing so we allow very
few alterations to the cars. We also want to keep the racing as
low key and friendly as possible so we don’t tech cars or have a
structured race format.
Club
Rules:
We run a large number of
different classes of cars. The classes are normally based on
the performance capabilities and types of car.
To date we have run:
-
Scalextric IRL (Dallara)
-
Formula 1 (Usually
Scalextric)
-
Modern LeMans Prototypes
(Scalextric and Slot-It)
-
Scalextric Ford GT40 and
Ferrari 330
-
Newer Scalextric NASCAR
-
Inline Scalextric NASCAR
-
Carrera Vintage NASCAR
-
Modern GT
-
Vintage GT (usually
Scalextric Corvettes)
-
Rally
-
60’s Monograms (Cobra
Daytona Coupe, Corvette, Mustang)
-
70’s Monograms (BMW and
Corvette)
-
German Street Stocks
(Scalextric Porsche Boxster and Audi TT)
-
Scalextric Vintage F1 (Maserati
250F, Vanwall, Ferrari 156, Cooper)
-
Scalextric Trans-Am
-
Slot-It Group C (Porsche
956/962, Jaguar XJR9, Lancia LC2, Sauber C9)
-
Unlimited.
For all but three of those
classes we have very simple rules; all components must remain
box stock except for the tires, which can be replaced with
silicones if desired. If other parts of the car must be
replaced, the approved factory replacements must be used.
For cars that were sold with
extra magnets (some Scalextric Sport version cars come with
additional button magnets) all cars in the class are allowed to
run the extra magnets.
The only classes that are run
differently than the above are:
Carrera Vintage NASCAR: We
remove the additional bar magnet.
Scalextric Vintage F1: We
remove the traction magnets.
Unlimited: We allow anyone
to run whatever they want as long as it is a plastic bodied 1/32nd
scale slot car.
As new cars are introduced or
old cars become more scarce, we’ll be adding and subtracting
classes as we go. As an example, once enough people purchase
the new A1GP cars that Scalextric is now selling we’ll probably
race them.
In a nutshell, our goal is to
try and keep veterans and rookies happy by keeping costs down,
keeping things informal, and giving anyone that buys a car a
chance to be competitive.
